Landing Pages
Landing pages are not doorway pages. Doorway pages are bad and search engines consider them spam and they could get your site banned from the major search engines. We use landing pages for a variety of good marketing practices but never to fool a search engine.
Local Business Listing Landing Pages:
Email Landing Pages - We use these all the time for clients. If you want to do a specific email marketing blast you want to know what kind of ROI that blast produces for you. By creating and tagging a specific landing page that you drive visitors to you can see how effective a campaign is and measure the success of the campaign.
SEM Landing Pages - Using specific landing pages for Search Engine Marketing is a great way to measure the success of your online campaigns. We use SEM landing pages many times to test new products and services or offer special promotions or coupons. Again this is a great way to measure ROI of your online marketing campaigns.
Radio, TV & Print Landing Pages - Many times a company wants to send visitors from "offline" marketing campaigns to their web site. It is impossible to separate offline visitors from online visitors if that all go the the same home page. But if you have a visitor that comes into your site from a print ad you may have the print ad list the URL as www.mydomain.com/print ad which then takes the user to a specific landing page only for those visitors. We have developed many "offline" landing pages and have been able to help our clients understand campaigns that work and do not work.
